JarHed, I think that is the point. Everyone use to take people to task and give them a "suck it up buttercup" when they needed it. At the end of the day, this place was run just like it was in the Army. You may not have liked the guy beside you, but you still had his back. If people were talking shit, then they were informed as much. And if someone was sinking they were thrown a life ring. Then for some reason political correctness raised it's ugly head. Taking someone to task was suddenly seen as "bullying" them. Since when were soldiers so thin skinned that they couldn't handle the truth? Now we have life guards running around making sure we have our water wings put on correctly, constantly reminding us of their superiority with their little "can thread ban" banners. And when those life guards start moaning? You are now in a position where your comments are given more weight by the authority you have been granted. Make sure you use that authority to help.
Zipp, I just went back over the whole conversation piece and I want to clarify something.
This forum has not changed one bit. The four of us that have been given 'Thread ban' privileges and a private section to discuss members have not even talked about one person. In fact, the majority of us did not really want it. The fact of the matter is that people were losing control and it had to be stopped. For instance, someone who has PTSD and is very unwell but is not a veteran might come on this forum without reading the rules properly, you know how it is when your really sick. Anyway, rather than being told to move on and their post being reported to Anthony, they were sometimes told to 'f*ck OFF, YOU DON'T BELONG', and then a bit of sport would be had to see who could demean them the most.
The whole idea of the 'water wings' is to make sure people don't get out of control. In case you have not noticed, I am pretty sure they have not been used yet.
With regards to what you can say, that has not changed. Jar has not been well and if he wants to delete his post it is his prerogative. Don't go making mountains out of molehills. If you want to tell someone to harden the f*ck up, do so, even if it is one of the 'Four'. We have made a pact where we will discuss between at least two of us before banning, so if someone is not well or bias, it won't happen.
So all any of us have asked is for anyone to be diplomatic about things before they press the 'Enter' key. If someone needs telling, do so.
