A normal flashback gives me a freeze response: catatonic, eyes wide and mouth agape. it usually lasts for a few hours, then is followed by 3-5 days with the hangover, isolating and avoiding.

ive just gotten over a flashback but this time it didnt control my body with catatonia. i don't understand why the reaction has changed?
why would the mind or body change its response to the threat it perceives is real?

the catatonic response fits, because during my traumas i escaped by dissociating.

but this time, i screamed & screamed my throat raw, followed by an explosion of tears!?
an external response, something ive never been able to do before, in real life or a flashback, until now.

Any ideas why?
