I am fascinated by brain damage and neuroscience. I am always reading more and trying to work out more ways to help my brain to chain itself. I do a lot.

There is a TEDx talk called "Violence -- a family tradition" | Robbyn Peters Bennett | TEDxBellingham It is well worth a watch.

Xmas was always pretty horrendous in my family. I don't know why I am so angry at my extended family - they never helped and had as just as many problems as my family. They were all pretty hopeless and gutless. Very good religious people working for the less fortunate people, but they beat and rape their own children.

Xmas is a time of traditions and Violence is a widespread within the generations of my family. Needless today I won't be spending time with my family for Xmas - but the stands that I made did make a small difference.

Most people on this forum would know about this - but it is a handy one to be able to bring up on the Internet and share with the less educated in our communities.

All my siblings have PTSD and other neurological brain disorders - and this can be seen playing out in their daily lives.

I was diagnosed 20+ yrs ago, with PTSD. My older sister(now deceased) was also diagnosed with PTSD. Both of my brothers have mental health issues, but because they were my abusers I don't know what they have been diagnosed with. Which leaves my other sister. She has severe anxiety, depression,OCD, has control issues, blah, blah, blah.

Yes, the dysfunction, abuse cycle has gone on for generations in my family. Is it just me, or is the entire world going nuts? Abuse, violence, war, confusion. It seems like things are getting worse and worse everyday. Honestly, I don't know of to many people that DON'T have mental health issues within their families. It just seems like it's becoming the norm!!!

Iv noticed, talking to both old school friends and meeting new people, that so many have 'rose tinted sunglasses' on. They just dont see abuse, they blank it out or they think the victim should be blamed even if they are a child.
Iv read this to be apathy?
So things just get worse - and for us with PTSD, we are hypervigilant to it so see it all magnified. And then the media certainly want us to be dead miserable and feeling guilty for everything in the world (in the UK they do anyway).
