wicked child, I'm afraid I can't agree with what you've said.
It seem that you are right. Today, I got this e-mail:
Dear zzz
Thank you for completing the questionnaire. The teacher who will be conducting the course has reviewed this and your original application.
He asks if you could please confirm that you had the stroke and the operation around Nov 2011? On your initial application form it is written that you had the stroke two months ago.
He explains that Vipassana meditation is not for the treatment of physical and/or mental health problems. He says if you are coming to the course with the hope of treating/curing your PTSD, then it would be the wrong motivation. He says that the aim of Vipassana meditation is to purify the mind and to walk on a spiritual path, so he asks you to re-consider why you want to come for the course. He emphasises that it is important to understand the right reason for doing so.
The teacher needs to know whether a family member or a friend knows that you have applied for the course, and if this family member or friend is supportive? He requires that you provide us with full details of this person who would be available to care for you in the event of an emergency during the ten-day course (i.e. their relationship to you, their full name, telephone number, email address and residential address).
Thank you for responding to these further points. If this information is complete then this would increase the chance of you being accepted. However, it is important to note that you will know that you are accepted to the course only when you receive a final confirmation letter.
With kind regards,
Sonia xxxxx
