Did the flashy end of 5th Av today (Uptown) with the mission of going to Tiffany's, a handbag and some winter boots for work.
5 hours later we got back, had walked Uptown, saw all the store names but dared not enter most, only did the first floor of Tiffany's and spent the next four hours in Sax fifth avenue, walking out with a year's supply of makeup as it was half the price of Australia. Included was the lovely assistant Jessica teaching me how to best apply makeup for my face type..... now if I can only remember even though she did write it down. I think getting dressed will now need an extra hour for the next few weeks until I get into the swing of things (plus I already had two brushes needed at home already so I didn't buy those so will have to cope without). Anthony was impressed and wants me to start tomorrow.........!
Dinner was soup and a pretzel but we have booked into seeing Mary Poppins on Broadway.
Rhode Island was fabulous yesterday and we received the grand tour of Newport. Meeting Shoka in person was like finally coming face to face with a long lost sister with a connection oddly built over the internet. Her family are lovely and she is a gorgeous and generous woman. A day to treasure.
Tomorrow is the Central Park walk... have dosed Anthony up with panadol/tylenol and antibiotics as he is quite unwell from the flu he caught from the cold and coughing he was surrounded with at the Thanksgiving Parade. He soldiered on well today but is sound asleep snoring now (fun!) and determined to go tomorrow as well as visit the Apple/Mac store nearby.
The hotel is gorgeous and it is so perfectly positioned that we have walked most places.
I'm still out of sorts time wise and based on the noises coming from the bed doubt I will get much sleep tonight. We even tried to change our flights home to better ones but they want more than the entire trip and accommodation cost us. I will try at the airport and see what happens as it seems that standby is very popular in America from what we have seen.
Went down to Broadway tonight and found the closest thing to my son's NYY's varsity style jacket request.... he had better like it as it took some serious crowd navigation and block walking ;)
Anyway, nitety nite... talk soon :)
