Has anyone ever tried a weighted blanket to help their anxiety? I like the feeling of being protected but all the blankets I have seen cost a lot of money, just wondering if it's worth the money. Thanks!

Totally worth the money. I'd even suggest upgrading to the glass beads.

My blanket has been instrumental in me learning to self regulate. I got a queen size that's a total of 25lbs. I would not recommend this. Just a twin at about 10-15lbs.

I bought mine at a sensory store online but etsy has lots of them. I did not get a cover but that's a good thing because washing my big blanket is a pain. It's actually been in my trunk for over a month cause I haven't made it to the laundry mat.

I got one and love it. It is fleece on the outside and the weighted stuff is inside. There's a recommendation to get one that is 15% of your body weight. I couldn't imagine having something that heavy. I am lucky enough to have a store that makes them near me so I went and tried a couple out. I got a twin sized 7 pound blanket. I sleep with it and that helps me feel more comfortable. I also use it to wrap up in during thunderstorms or other times when I am really scared. It was worth the money I paid for it which was probably around $80. I've had it for about 3 years now. If you could try them out first, that would be my recommendation just so you know if you will like it, but I have known a few other people with PTSD who get benefits from theirs as well.

I have a 30-40lb blanket I got in Korea years and years ago that's not weighted, it's just f*cking heavy  Love. It. I also have a more modern version that is about 15lbs. They're made with synthetic "fur" fibers, which is what creates the weight. My one from Korea is about 4" thick, my one ordered from Korea is about 2 inches thick. Hence the weigh difference. Über-soft. I sometimes joke it's the pelt of a really big teddy bear, awful nuisance those, in Korea ;) Giant plushies, roaming the city streets, hunted by gangs of blanket makers. Getting mashed flat by passing steam rollers. Cough.

They're about $100 on Amazon. Wonu is one of the better brands.

I just looked these up. Holy crap they are expensive!! There has to be an alternative!

I will stack all of my blankets on top of each other, which works for me because when I'm anxious enough to need weight I'm probably also freezing cold. Last night I slept with seven blankets because I was freaking out about going to sleep and my husband wasn't home to cuddle with. So, that's my alternative.

I have sensory issues but weight doesn't help so much. Pressure----yes, but it has to be juuuuuuust right. The other day I couldn't find clothes that gave me the right amount of pressure and I think I changed 8 times before settling on an outfit to wear. But I digress. Lol.
