Well, This May Not Seem Like Much Of An Accomplishment But I Got What I Wanted.

Ok, I know, very trivial in the big scheme of things, but I needed a new cell phone carrier. I find the entire experience of that mind boggling - too many companies, too many plans, LTE this and Gigabytes that.

So, I finally decided on the carrier that seemed to offer the best plan, coverage, etc -only to be told by their "live chat" rep that my phone wouldn't work on their network because of blah blah blah ....

So I turned to the 21st Century version of the Oracle of Delphi, Google, and found out the way to do it. Armed with that. I took my newly-unlocked phone into the new carrier's store today, said to the kid at the counter that I wanted my phone on their network, and about 20 minutes later I've now got full unlimited service, all the gigs I need, the same network (new carrier rides on the old carrier's network) and my bill got smaller.

Nothing much to do with PTSD but it is a little victory that makes me happy.

Good job! To me that would be a big accomplishment and power over PTSD! I have a very hard time being around others and strangers is the hardest. Going to a business and saying I want this and that is something I haven't delt with yet. I am in need of a vehicle and haven't found the strength and courage to go to a dealership yet. Voicing my opinion and being confident in saying what I want to a stronger willed person is going to take some work and are big steps for me. So I say be proud of any accomplishment no matter how big or how small in anyones eyes. Go you!

Oh, thank you. And FWIW, when I was looking for a new car about 18 months ago, I was able to pinpoint what I wanted online /I am a loyal General Motors customer and GM dealers show their inventory online in great detail - you can see the actual sticker with all the specs - heck, you can buy the car entirely online if you want... Anyway I'm sure all of the car companies do that - takes a lot of the legwork and stress out of the process, then you can go in person and test drive etc.
