Having the privilege to live in a really nice, suffuced with light, well insulated flat (it's cold outside now!). I'm also thankful for our two cheeky dogs. They make me laugh so much; One of 'em loves to perform kind of a break dance about 10 times per hour. The other one sounds like a percussion drill on steroids, when he's waiting to be fed.... Never heard a dog made a sound like this in my life. - Even our vet was perplexed when she heard him make that noise, while he was eagerly waiting for her to give him his treat. Oh, and our neighbours. Yes, we've got such kind neighbours. That's worth a lot. And our vis-à-vis neighbour has got a baby girl. Now we've got three babies in our apartment building. Yay! Love 'em! Yeah, that's a lot to be grateful for...

Coffee and doughnuts, fresh air and an understanding partner. I mean, she's having a bad time- mostly because of the poor behaviour of another officer- and I listened to her vent for nearly the whole shift, so it's only fair that I get a turn, right?

I do understand, of course, that I'm older, more experienced and male, so getting a peak into the awful shitshow that is my head could easily have freaked her out. If it did, though, she hid it pretty well. I figure it's important that we both know where the other's head is at if we're going to be working so closely together. I get that it's a million miles from the counter-terrorism stuff I used to do, but you never know; humans can be pretty wild when you tell them something they don't want to hear.

We got outside for a walk, my back didn't hurt, it was sunny even. I've eaten nice, healthy sort of foods, and you never know, all the above might help me get to sleep a tad earlier than 7am
