Coffee and doughnuts, fresh air and an understanding partner. I mean, she's having a bad time- mostly because of the poor behaviour of another officer- and I listened to her vent for nearly the whole shift, so it's only fair that I get a turn, right?
I do understand, of course, that I'm older, more experienced and male, so getting a peak into the awful shitshow that is my head could easily have freaked her out. If it did, though, she hid it pretty well. I figure it's important that we both know where the other's head is at if we're going to be working so closely together. I get that it's a million miles from the counter-terrorism stuff I used to do, but you never know; humans can be pretty wild when you tell them something they don't want to hear.
