What Are You Grateful For Today?

The sun managing to peek through the chemical tic tac toe-like shit storm being sprayed in the sky.

The woodpecker tapping out a beat.

The crows making so many different sounds as they gather to stalk the hawk.

The squirrels busily stashing their nuts.

Mobility to be able to walk about and enjoy the sights.

The ability to hear all the sounds that surround.

The vision that allows me to drink in the abundance of beauty wherever I roam.

  • The blessing of a mentor who interceded for me at a critical time.
  • The insight that you can't really interrupt someone's monologue and it's okay
  • The realization that this time you really do want to go "home", even if that's where there's extra added stressors and potential difficulties.
  • A good man who loves me unconditionally and with whom I reciprocate.
  • The awareness that it's my life, my choice and my words I'm responsible for... not someone else's.

No longer being addicted to and heavily controlled by animal flesh and their by-products.

Having fewer runs to the landfill each month from lessening our consumption of highly processed stuff, both internally and externally.

Having most of our "trash" go back to the earth via composting to help grow more of our meals with, or being re-purposed for other uses.

The smell of freshly made fruit and veggie juice mixed with the sage smell leftover from smudging...aromatherapy at one of its finest moments.

The intoxicating smell of the giant sweet annie plant that voluntarily came up in the garden.

The flycatcher who's been serenading me off and on from the corner of the gutter most of the morning.
