What Does It Mean To Physically Experience Emotions?

@katz That sounds lovely! I can't cry. Or at least non-dissociated Poofycat hasn't...
I have always enjoyed - much more - laughing so hard it makes me cry. Other ideas, sad movie, or better-- heart warming story of an animal rescue. (My personal favorite) Lots of stories on line to see or read about.

its interesting reading this, because I have the same problem but the other way round. I only experience emotions as physical feelings. In therapy my therapist would ask me to describe how I felt about things and I'd firstly have no language for articulating emotions, I'd say things like 'it's irritating' and he'd say 'that's not an emotion'. It was only when we explored it that I realised I could only describe it as like energy in the muscles in my shoulders, or weight on my chest. I seemed to have experienced the split of emotions and physical sensations but had lost all access to the emotional part. It's interesting, you're trying to work out what I experience and I'm trying to work out what you experience! No answers I'm afraid, but thought you'd be interested.
