My daughter had to be isolated in the hospital because she had germs from our home.

That's so crazy. When my mom gave birth to me, at an Army hospital, they wouldn't let my dad in to be with her because he had "germs". My mom was like, where do you think I just came from???

Was it a surprise that your daughter came at home? I almost had my son in a traffic jam, thankfully I couldn't relax(imagine that). As it was we made it to the hospital, but the hospital staff kept putting me off thinking I wasn't dilated enough. He proved them wrong and within 20 minutes he was out. No one was ready for him. You should have seen them all running around! lol My son came out all bright eyed.

I ask about whether your daughter was expected because my sister chose to have three of hers at home. The midwife wouldn't do a fourth, so her last child she had at a hospital.

I'm very happy you had that experience. It must have seemed magical. :)

Britt, we called the hospital and they told us we had plenty of time. But she came in an hour. It was a accident. I was glad it happened though. What a lovely memorie. I treasure it. I nursed her for two years. She hated to move from the house. It was the house she was born in.

The thought of holding one of my nieces or nephews in my arms or when they sit in my lap. I love them so much, and I don't think I knew I was capable of love until they were born.

Remembering when I read to my nephew, he always lays his head on my arm and sighs as if this is the best thing in the world (I know it's one of my favorite things).

Teaching, I know that doesn't sound comforting on its own but there is a wonderful feeling I get when a student learns something I taught them. It makes me feel like I've found my purpose in life.

Gizmo, what an excellent memory. The moment of birth is the greatest memory in my opinion. Such a miracle. That sweet little innocent angel. And what a wonderful gift for your husband and son. May you all have a wonderful life together. (((( group hug to your entire family for such joy)))). Thank you for this today. I needed it.

I have lots of nice memories but mostly of pets they are so funny and cute,to calm myself i imagine laying on a beach with golden sand with the sound of the waves getting closer,i even imagine a nice palm tree too its so relaxing!,

now when i have to go to places i do not like i always imagine a Bengal tiger on a leash leading the way,it really helps to calm a situation as you do not feel alone and feel protected i have done this since my school days,i hated going to school because of bullies but with my bengal beside me i felt safe, and its as if it showed in my face as many kept away as i must have walked with confidence!,

so try it and you will feel so different honestly it works wonders to make you feel safer!

A gift for you all! Hoping this makes you smile! From my actual trip. There were 2!!!!
Hi there Sailorgirl! I wanted to respond to your post yesterday but I was emotionally frozen so I couldn't do much posting! I love your gift to us!!! Rainbows are so beautiful, and when I see one I know it's a gift from God and a miracle! Scientists may be able to explain what makes rainbows appear, but God thought it up! They can explain how He does it, but not WHY. The reason they exist is because God loves all of us. :inlove: This is the same for all beauty that exists on Earth, it's a Gift!

My comforting memory is HollyGrove Home for Children in 1956.
Your story of your time staying at HollyGrove was really beautiful and I wanted to tell you so!!! If you ever want to share more of your memories of when you were there I'd be happy to hear them!:)
