I know a lot of the people on this forum live in Australia and it is winter down there right now, so I was just wondering what winter is like for you guys.

I live in New England and the best way to describe the weather here in general was said by Mark Twain, "If you don't like the weather in New England, wait five minutes and it will change."

Our winters can be bitterly cold and dump 3 feet of snow on us at once, or they can be like last winter where the ground hardly freezes.

So what is it like there? Actually, anybody, what is winter like where you live?

Perth - changes alot, but mostly mild.

Today and most of next week - sunny, no wind about 20C, I got sun burnt last week, but really cold mornings 2c.

When it rains, it's torrential. Mostly rains in short showers, so it's not cold like Melbourne.

Australia winter varies based upon where in the country you live.

Southern states are coldest, obviously as they're furtherest away from the equator and closest to Antarctica.

Northern parts of Australia don't fluctuate too much between summer and winter, it is more just the humidity that changes.

Then you have central / outback Australia, which on a winter or summer day can be 50 degrees, then minus at night... all because there is nothing out their and thus temperature changes drastically.

Tropics,Northern Australia. It cools a bit in the dry season and away from the coast can get cool,as low as 5%. At least we get a short break from the humidity of the wet season.
