What Is Your Favorite Fall Activity?

I marched one parade in HS (I was a violinist trying to learn french horn - miserable failure!). They pinned me between 2 other real horn players so I couldn't mess up too badly. I basically just carried the horn. I am convinced that the first person to ever suggest a marching band did not play an instrument. In college, I spent one year doing flags for the band director/friend. We were such a small school and he needed one more person. Violin teacher was furious but, what can I say? It was fun. The football team was abysmal so the band WAS the best part of the game. I nearly took out a football player who came on the field before we were done practicing. And, I got belted with the end of a flag more than once. Fun times though. Do love a good football game...

I have a new favorite fall activity. Hauling in grapes at Illahe Vineyard using a team of horses!

Last night was my night to "babysit". My daughter had school so I had the 5 year old grandson. I had 2 pumpkins ready to make Jack-O-Lanterns. One for my front step and one for him to take home. He was like "ewwwwww" with the removal of the the insides but giggled when I pretended to feed it to him, LOL. His dad usually bakes the seeds at their house. I bought a new pumpkin cutter that is battery operated and vibrates like an electric knife. This meant my grandson could hold onto it with me as I guided it and that really gave him a sense that HE was creating his own design.

Anyway, this has been a tradition I try to do with them each year. Such wonderful memories for me.

Yay Nie! ISH....that sounds wonderful. I love making things with my grandkids. You made me remember another favorite fall activity. Going trick or treating with my kids and grandkids. I LOVE seeing all the kids in costumes ;o)
