Hello supporters!

I need your help.

I've been getting treatment for a while now trying to reclaim my life, and it's only just dawned on me recently how my PTSD affects others as well. AKA you, the supporters.

I'm 22 and my primary goal is trying to ... I guess show my friends and parents that I do appreciate them. And I know I must have put them through hard times... it's just... hard to put things in perspective you know? I want to mend that gap I've made with the ones I love... I just... I don't know how. I don't know what I could say or do that would be worthwhile.

And I would like to know what YOU as a supporter would love to hear from the one you support?

What would give you that warm and happy feeling?

It doesn't even have to be what you'd like them to say, it could be what you'd like them to do for you?

I would love to hear what you have to say because I really want to try to make things easier on those that have stood by my side.

Best,

Phoenix

What a lovely question 99Phoenix99 - just the fact that you are asking it would be enough for me if I were your supporter

I think the others have covered everything I would like to hear or feel. But perhaps you could tell them what you have just told us - I'm sure it would mean the world to them.

Thank you all for your input, I'm not very good with expressing myself with words in person but you've all given me some good ideas as well as made me more aware of what I can work on. I'm hoping that slowly doing what you've all mentioned will turn into habit and make things easier for those in my life.

I really appreciate it :)

I wish you all nothing but the best!

I have ptsd, and have enjoyed this thread very much. Both my husband and myself went to a very good marriage counselor and he helped us so much in communicating better. And I agree there is powerful healing in hugs. Thanks to all of you. I hope you get these things in your life.

I would like my sufferer to say that he appreciates me and is glad that I have been there with him. It would be nice to hear him say he is sorry that sometimes he has taken his stuff out on me.

Another one here who would be very, very happy to hear that my sufferer is committing to getting help. And I would not like to hear him say that he is going to quit drinking. I would like to hear him say that he did not drink today.
