:) There aren't too many upsides to PTSD, but I think I just found one! My phone died a death last night and it is registered on husband's business so they wouldn't speak to me. Not that I had a phone to speak on... So he rang them this morning and was so stressed by the time that he got through to someone that he gave them both his metaphorical barrels. And...

I have a new phone :D

Yes, at least one potentially good outcome.

Of course, my mind starts working and thinking of other "uses", LOL. In a crowd and can't get through, unleash the tirade and watch the waters part as they gladly let you pass. :)

To any sufferers reading thsi. It's just my sense of humor. I don't mean any offense. Some days, my humor is all I have, LOL.

LOL ISH - I think keeping your sense of humour is the best way to get through the tough times. He did later call the automated telephone line and call the woman a very, very rude name which wasn't as funny... but hey, you can't have it all!

In our house when there is some problem that needs to be handled on the phone. To start with I do the nice route. If that doesn't work, then my husband handles it. It does usually work, it's a pity that one has to get upset to get things accomplished sometimes. Sadly that's all people understand.

Another plus with PTSD is that one time when my husband was going to be out-of-town I wanted some security on our house. My husband, of course, is great at security. He put alarms and locks everywhere. So another plus. Hmmm what else could we come up with on the positive side.

IvyMillie,

SO funny, both of your posts! My husband also takes over when I can't "get through" to people. Today however, I got a call I keep getting from a bill collector insisting I am the person he is looking for. When he called me a liar when I told him I am NOT that person and I've had the phone number 5 years, I appeared to have "caught" my husband's PTSD. Actually, it didn't get much farther than " I am a police officer and you are calling my work line on-duty! If you call again I will find you and charge you with harassment." It was convenient that my dispatcher cleared me over the radio at that moment. He hung up. I wasn't satisfied though. I called back and left a message to be contacted by a manager.

And now just got home and it looks like someone has been in our attic; no idea why or how...I cleared the house, and sent the kids off to swim now I'm waiting for the deputy. I know sleep is going to be tough tonight with husband gone. I have to be cop at home tonight too. UGH. We need some alarms I guess.

LOL, before I even thought there was a problem, we were in another house and we were having whole house air conditioning installed. I was at work and the installer belittled my wife. Implying that she could not understand things because of gender. That she should wait for the man of the house to make decisions. She WENT OFF! Even complained to the company about gender bias!

We got a HUGE discount on the install!

:)
