Where is Your Favourite Place To Be?

I like that LH. But I am a tad concerned you find the front of a New Model Army gig quiet and peaceful!

lol I may have forgotten about that part when I was doing my post. =) I probably would like that too. I'm a bit on the wild side I guess. It makes life all the more interesting.

My favorite place to be...

Hiking with my dog. No one else around except elk and deer and other wildlife. All alone, just me, my dog, and nature.

My favorite place to be.
Always, in the mountains where the tall pine, and fir trees tower over me and the sunlight filters through to warm my shoulders. Where the rushing water moves boulders out of it's path as it cascades down through the canyons. Wild and untouched by civilization. Breathing air that smells of deer and elk and bear and loam and pitch and moss. I want to put my foot where no one ever has before and here I know it just might be possible. This place has no name on any map. There are many places like this here. They help me feel renewed in my spirit.
Other times, just being in the company of my animals. Watching them. Helping them. Playing games or just 'visiting'.

Favorite place pictures ....

Just a thought to share. I have browsed magazines and also have some actual photo's of my favorite places. I know this sounds simple to do but just in case anyone would benefit **

PLACE THESE PHOTO'S WHERE YOU SPEND THE MOST TIME OF YOUR DAY.

I also have placed some right next to my bed in my line of vision for when I need to ground after nightmares.

It never hurts to soothe yourself during the day with "mini trips".

I love the entire state of Oregon, and Northern California, too. The beach, the mountains, the rivers, etc. I love parks. I also love the San Juan Islands just north of Seattle in the Puget Sound. So breathtakingly peaceful. I also like swimming in the river or whitewater rafting and doing exciting things, but somehow even whitewater rafting to me is peaceful.

But I also love going out and listening to live jazz in Seattle, or experimental music, or trance or psychedelic music late at night. I kind of miss Seattle.

My favorite place away from home used to be Rollover Pass, located in the former small town of Gilchrest, Tx, on the Texas gulf coast.
The storm surge from Hurricane Ike hit like a 25ft tidal wave, completely destroyed Gilchrest, all the homes and businesses no longer exists. It altered the beaches, sand dunes, and destroyed the piers, even the main road. The road is now passable I hear, but I have not been there.
I have not yet found anything else comparable.
This really sucks.

My favourite place to be is by the sea on a sunny warm day. It's beautiful and takes all the anxiety away

Hatteras Island...the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I just hope that Nicholas Sparks didn't make it seem too inviting in his latest movie...grrr. The island is nice as it is, not overpopulated!

Nice thread. Thanks!!!

I've been to the upper penninsula of Michigan, it's beautiful. The water is so clear you can see all the way to the bottom. I love it there.

I've been to the Blue Ridge Mountains in Georgia in October. The colors were gorgeous and blue ridge pines stay green all year. Through our cabin window past the trees we could see a lake, in the morning it was full of mist.

I love my back yard. About an acre of grass with pines, apple trees, cherry trees, and full of animals; deer, foxes, coyotes, geese, cranes, hawks, turkey vulters, rabbits, racoons, butterflys, and every kind of little bird, jays, swallows, humming birds, tons of woodpeckers, cardinals, finches, which we feed. The cherry tree doesn't stand a chance against the jays. The deer eat the apples. It's so green and quiet. And when it snows, it's lovely. We moved here from the city and though I love being downown with all the tall buildings, this beats all.
