Sometimes venting and rambling can help, too. Hope it helps you to get some of this out....

It's the triggers, the daily triggers and feeling overwhelmed and no one to talk to. It's always being careful of what I say or do-it's looking for death but it doesn't happen. It's wanting a nice bath but being too triggered over a damaged body and feeling unsafe, it's wanting to brush my teeth more than 1x a day but can't , or using powder to cover up a smell I can't get rid of. Or wanting a glass of milk but the memories are overpowering. Sorry-just a lot of stuff

I totally understand the question, because the same has happened to me. But I'd say start by finding a therapist who understands the need for connection and doesn't make you feel worse by perpetuating the lie that we have to meet all our own needs. It would be a good question to ask in an initial interview.

If I have no one to turn to, il either play guitar or uke (very therapeutic for me). Or I'll draw, write in my journal. Sometimes I think about my therapist, and the insight and "words
Of wisdom" from my last session.

For me, videogames is great, as it lets
Me temporarily leave this world and venture into another one.

If all else fails, I come here. I'm stills newbie, but the people here seem great.
:D

who do you turn to when there is no one? What do you do instead?

I have been diagnosed and living with DID. In the slight chance of making myself seem sad and pathetic it seems I often turn to my alter.

What do I do? I'm not sure... it depends on the situation. Perhaps watch a light-hearted comedy, take a walk outside, go out to eat. Or I get really depressed and sleep it off.
