And/ or too if we're so busy fighting fires daily it just goes off somewhere underground because there's no time or energy to focus on it?

This may well be part of it Junebug. There was so much seemingly more crazy stuff going on at the time that this event was tiny in comparison. It is just that it came back with such clarity....so suddenly.

What was weird was that I'd never actually forgotten the traumatising experience, it was as though the memory had just lay dormant for years.

I have had this experience as well. Knowing is one thing. Feeling it again adds a whole new dimension. Thank you Mit.
