nice :o, you know what sucks most, I have had ptsd so long and I didnt know, now that I do know it seems like all the symptons suddenly started to work heavyer or something!
I have a hard time getting to sleep because of my intrusive thoughts. If it was up to me I would go to sleep with the tv on but my husband likes it dark. When it's so dark my thoughts just get louder, so know I am sleeping with one of those sound machines. It helps a little.
I know the stress of sleep seems like I have a adult beverage to make it happen but these days it seems not to work and I'm up for days. When you guys sleep does it sem like you still didnt get any rest like there is just a part of the day that just dissapeared?
Yeah for me tv or peaceful quiet music are the only things that wont wake me up just as I'm on the brink of sleeping. For tv I usually turn it down almost all the way but so that I can still hear what is being said if it was bothering me. I'll also dim the contrast and brightness all the way so that its just the tv backlight that has a very slight light to it.
What gets me the most is anticipation of an event the next day, I can be sure that I'll be in for some crappy sleep that night if any. And sleep aids or temazepam does nothing for me when I'm like that. But I also try to stick to a low dose, I have heard stories about how people can't sleep ever without meds anymore and I dont want that to happen to me.. *crosses fingers*
