Why can't I see this as a problem?
You wouldn't have posted a thread about putting your head in an oven if you weren't concerned, right? This is just my opinion. I don't like the word normal, because it can be pretty broad....many things can be normal, depending on the person, their circumstances/situation and options. But putting your head in a hot oven, overdosing on pills, hanging yourself with a rope, are all NOT normal, and they all have one thing in common......you might or might not die in the process. If you don't die, you might or might come back from the experience with major health-related problems, being maimed, having a worse memory than you have now, or being a burdensome vegetable to someone who has to wipe your butt as you lay helpless in a nursing home. This head in oven behavior, just like pills/hanging yourself has nothing but bad outcomes.....if you aren't looking for a way to terminate your life....keep your head out of the oven! If you are.....this is a super bad idea!
I have some serious issues with PTSD, and occasionally my thoughts momentarily go to the dark side....but I'd never consider an oven. Death by oven....Nope. Oh, the mess you'd leave for someone else to be traumatized if you screwed up and were successful. What is the purpose for sticking your head in an oven? Is this just an urge or are you dissociating? I'm in agreement with Friday,
stay out of the kitchen and keep your head out of the oven. Got any idea what triggers you to go into the kitchen in the first place? If you are truly concerned you are dissociating or sleepwalking, and you don't recall doing this intentionally, and are still having issues with this behavior, try unplugging the oven for your own safety and instead, use the microwave or a toaster oven to cook!
