OK, my recent bout started two years ago when I spent 3 months being investigated for bowel cancer. My boss started bullying me. This situation continued for a year at which point i was assaulted. Fortunately i had a new boss by then, however, I have been in and out of a complete nervous wreck ever since. The tactic taken by the new boss was to sweep everything under the carpet and pretend it never happened. Also, I have been "encouraged" to cut all ties with my former boss, despite the fact he is pilferding my accademic work, repeating it and removing my name from history.

I can't afford to lose 5 years of results.

I am now in such a mess i am failing in my duties at work. Having missed a few deadlines i have started receiving snotty emails at midnight the night before i am due on leave. Mental. I am on about 2-3 hours sleep a day at the moment. A meeting has been set up for monday with HR my boss and the Union. Frankly, I am terrified at what the future holds. Yet again I feel hunted. I am trying to fend off the blackest, self destructive thoughts, but by god it is difficult.

I am sorry for what you have been through and continue to go through, but it may be a blessing in disguise. You may not realize that you need a break so that you can work on you and your issues.

As for your old boss......The truth always comes out in the end, it may take awhile, but it does....

Whatever happen in the meeting on Monday, try not to view it negatively....

I hope things go well for you.

It is sheer terror to have to deal with such stress and uncertainty. She Cat has a point.

Can you take time off, sounds like you could do with some? I've been on sick leave and I would say it has allowed me to straighten myself out and deal with some of the personal stuff I needed to deal with. Luckily, I have a very supportive boss. Your HR will have all the information on entitlements etc, and those should have nothing to do with your line manager.

Listening to my body and taking time out was the best thing I could have done. I was exhausted from 'fighting' full-blown ptsd for 1 1/2 years while trying to hold down a job and cope with exposure therapy. Taking time out both allowed me to do the 'work' I needed to do on a personal level, in private and out of the view of my colleagues. Please PM me if you want more info.

Boy, I sure can relate to the bullying and harassing bosses. Nothing more stressful than having to cope with that kind of situation in order to keep a roof over your head. I've had it happen job after job after job.

This is insanity. I think I would definately figure out some way for them to have to 'fire' you, then you can collect unemployment and get the heck out of there. My best advice. I've hung in there in abusive jobs situations thinking I had too and he stress got me very physically ill. I'm still chronically ill from it........likely for the rest of my life. They took my health from me.

Get the heck out of there ASAP. If your boss doesn't start respecting your boundaries or there is no solution in site. Plan your escape. Life is too short man.........believe me.

-I, too agree with She Cat and will be thinking about you thru monday. -Remember, YOU have done nothing wrong, the new boss is a start at improvement, and the Union is on your side.

My best wishes for you, as well as sleep/ kindness to yourself.
