When I was in intense therapy, we had to go with the art therapist to the gym. She said we were going to try some relaxation techniques. I told her I'm not good with any of that, including meditation. I've tried but I just can not relax. It didn't help that it was done in low light, laying down on mats. I was okay during the breathing aspect of it, but once they started in on the visualization therapy I was no longer relaxed. I'm not sure what about it makes me uncomfortable, but I do not like it. Afterwards we agreed that that was just not the therapy for me.
It's good that you are putting limits down. It is very hard to find a therapist that you can relate with, so I don't envy you having to find a new one, if that's what you decide to do. What we are going through is difficult enough without having to feel uncomfortable in our therapists office.
