It is true that there are no guarantees as to the outcome Venusian, and that can be hard. But if nothing else, you will receive the validation of knowing that what happened to you is being recognized as the crime that it was, is being brought into the open and honestly investigated, and whatever the outcome, you will own your truth and your path to the greatest possible healing.

Please do keep us updated. These processes can be somewhat stop-start, which can be frustrating, but let us help to share the journey with you, the good and the bad.

I would want to know. So my child didn't feel alone in all of it. Honestly though, I would be in jail right now for what I would have done to the person who hurt my child.

I would want to know as a parent, so I could help my child.

As maddog said, there are no guarantees with court hearings. I had one and the result was prison, but it wasn't justice. But many people do get justice as well.

I wish you well in this very hard situation and really hope it does go well.

My parents know the basics but not any of the details of what happened. I don't know if the police will tell them or if they will just ask questions about what they remember and some of the details about where we lived and who our neighbours were. I was supposed to call them tonight to let them know they will be getting a call soon but I think I need another day to settle my mind a little more.
