Is when I reach out for help and get slapped down.

When I feel my PTSD kicking in, I used to reach out for help. Now, I don't.
I have tried calling "warm lines", but they really don't do much. They come across as cold and uncaring.
I have tried crisis lines, after all it is a crisis. But if 'm not suicidal or homicidal, they couldn't care less.
Since I have vet status, I have even tried the vet line. 2/3 the time that doesn't work. All I'll hear is a line about how I need to reach out to the VA instead.

I have tried the VA, but no matter that I have a DD214 that can be verified, no matter than I have medical records, no matter that I have pictures of me in service, and no matter that I still have check stubs from my paychecks...according to them I didn't serve.

What the hell am I to do then?

Thank you for serving our country which I know means jack if you are not recognized for your assistance.

Consider sending an certified e-mail to Robert A. McDonald who (as you may already know) is secretary of Veterans Affairs. His email is [email protected].

Within the system there can be applied bar-code software for administering medications to patients — the initiative of a VA nurse and prevent future confusion of your services.

Dead Link Removed

If you build a paper trail of requesting help, then the news on your side can get involved and investigate. Politicians enjoy getting on the band wagon during the Holiday Season as well. It worked in Virginia : it can work in your state too!

You deserve your benefits...

You have a 24/7 support line right here @cactus_jack and my advice is to do exactly what you have done here... phrase a good title with the exact issue, and post it and then work through feedback, questioning, answering, figuring out a better way for you to view what is troubling you within your mind. As a veteran myself... it works, and has worked the best for me of all options.

One problem at a time, each one its own specific title of the issue, followed by the specifics. Short, sharp, to the point... just like you're asking here, thus specific answers are easier.

That's terrible to have your reality and past negated, as though it never happened. it's horrible the way vets are treated. Seriously messed up.

As anthony stated you are welcome to post what you need to process and we are here to listen and help in any way.
