Understand AI use at MyPTSD: all AI use is explained in our AI help page. AI use is by choice here. It exists if you want it, but does nothing unless you choose to use it.
When you know you must be pretty stressed out because the back of your right leg is bleeding from you scratching it without realizing it :banghead: . (I can't begin to count the number of times this has happened!)
When you are reading a post where some one is complaining about another. You immediately go back and make sure you were not the one they were talking about cause you would never want to hurt anyone! Then get mad at yourself for wasting the time thinking that!
When you have been seeing so many specialists for so many things that your partner starts collectively referring to them as the 'psycho' therapist. :roflmao:
When you see evil or potentially bad things where others might see innocence. Like when I see little girls dressed up for pageants and I can't help thinking about the bad people out there that would want to hurt them. Or even the little kids that aren't dressed up. One of my ex boyfriends use to call me the "child and animal defender". Can't help watching for evil. Nope, just can't.
When on writing this post on another thread 'Also its snowing here so its beautiful outside and I'm going to make some fishcakes for dinner', you read it back for errors and think,....I AM NOT making flashbacks for dinner??? Oh, fishcakes,...fishcakes for dinner! Anyway, I make my flashbacks mainly with tinned salmon and mashed potato and celeriac!
When you take 13 prescription medicines. Also, you get terrorized at the thought of being prescribed yet another because of the deadly anaphalactic shock reaction you had to one new medicine once (heart stopped, CPR, hospital stay...) which happened in your best friend's kitchen thankfully or you would be DEAD, because you live alone.
Your collection of Sherrilyn Kenyon novels becomes a healing mechanism because you identify with each of her heroes.
Or
You are finally are alone, feeling safe and can lay on your couch for three days just enjoying the silence.
Or
You can listen to the song "Center of the Sun" by Conjure One singing the choruses @ top of your lungs "And I cannot be hurt by anything this wicked world has done..."

Or
You have a 35-year-old teddy bear (no relation to the Seth McFarlane foul mouthed bear) that has been through your trauma with you; so you still have it as the only person in the universe who "gets" what you're going through.
:O_o: You know you have PTSD when you have an irrational fear of corn flakes. Once I walked into a supermarket and the entire entry way was filled with them and I had to leave the store.
When you're watching the news and the guy reporting on sports says something about "flashbacks to previous seasons". And your first response is to roll your eyes at just the word flashback. The words flashback and trigger now have a completely different meaning to me.
