Your Pet Did What!?!

Especially since it is getting warmer out, my cat is determined to curl up in my arms while I'm sleeping. He has to have one of my arms and a hand in order to be settled. If I'm sleeping he'll start tapping my nose or face with his paw(thankfully keeping his nails in) and paw at my hand to get it out of being snug against me. He is one determined cat. If he doesn't get his way then he lays on top of my side or back depending on how I'm sleeping. So much for restful nights. lol

I had a beautiful black plott hound/lab mix with bright yellow eyes at the beginning of my marriage. I was working as an assistant to the owner of a small maid service at the time(high stress job) and one morning during a very difficult week with the maids I was working with, my now ex turned off my alarm before he went to work, making me an hour late and since my being late cost the owner a client, I was fired. I was inconsolable but my dog Moira crawled up onto the couch to lay beside me and buried her head beneath my chin. She sat there beside me without moving for three hours while I cried. I honestly don't believe any human being can comfort a person the way a pet can. They give selflessly all of the time and all they ask for in return is to be with us. She was so brilliant and my shadow for the precious time she was alive.

My dog Mysty would lay her head on my lap when she was begging for a treat. She was the best dog I ever had. She would snuggle by me in bed. I could go on walks in the woods and by the creek with her without her being on a leash. She was trained so good. I miss her so much.

I had a puppy who was disturbed while she was sleeping near me, by my young son. She nipped at him(testing her boundaries). I grabbed her snout, not too tightly, told her no. She tried to apologize to me by crawling in my lap and giving me kisses. I told her she had to apologize to my son. She actually went over to him and started kissing him too. :) Pets can be so smart at times.

My cat Bella(tortie, complete cantankerous terror) loved to jump on the back of our basset hound whenever she was heading outside for potty breaks, terrorizing the poor dog and causing her to pee on the floor. Bella would then walk away, head high and tail twitching, as though she were thoroughly pleased with herself. Had more than one person tell me that cat was of the devil. :hilarious:

My first ever dog, Charlie, who I got when I was in 8th grade, ate a whole cheese ball off the coffee table, right before mom and dad were about to have a New Years Eve Party! I thought that was it, for sure he'd be in HUGE trouble and so would *I*, but my folks just laughed it off and then it has been a family joke since then, thank God!

I begged for a dog for years before that, without any success until we got Charlie. I feared even that they would make us get rid of him, since he was basically what I had begged for and my wishes were never more important than their parties, which were VERY important to them. Parties were a means for them to get more bu$iness, you see.

Babygirl, my miniature dachshund, is a lap dog. She tries to pin me down to wherever I am all the time, by sitting in my lap. Just when I get settled in a spot, she gets settled on my lap there too, with the exception of my recliner, she does not like it because I rock in it I think, so she chooses the bed then, which is next to the recliner. She loves being close to me, but if I feel hemmed in, I head for the rocker. That way I can rock, have a little space to myself and still be close to her too; best of both worlds.
