Not possible that they missed that many times (far out, they do a lot of ultra sounds there! I thought the health care was shit? In Aus you will get one at the beginning to determine dates, one at 20 weeks to make sure all the bits grew right, and a third at full term to make sure baby isn't breach.

The term you used translates to fibroid of the uterus.

Still, in all seriousness, not much can be wrong at this stage ok?
If baby isn't thriving, your doctor will ensure they get her out.

I can promise you after that many scans, they'll have missed nothing.

Just keep an eye on her movement, and wait for your doctors advice.

Btw. I would be alarmed dealing with a doctor who speaks another first language too! No wonder your afraid, in a such an alien place you poor thing.

But I promise, your baby will be fine.
She just needs you to stay calm xx

Casey I can't Imagine how scared you are, but please take a deep breath. can you get a Second opinion. For you to behaving many ultrasounds and not one showed any thing, makes me think maybe it's your new doctor. I have read your other posts and you are a very strong woman. Please don't let the fear, cloud your clarity. Take care of yourself and your baby. :hug:s

@mary1979 I want to believe you but I am starting to wonder if this prenatal doctor even had the right credentials to be doing this. I found the term in English for the first problem - "a condition known as intrauterine growth retardation or restriction -- IUGR. This condition increases the risk of fetal death before or around the time of delivery." Still shocked that they would only pick up on this now. As for the fibroids thing, the term I gave was just the closest I could find, but in Russian it actually refers to all of the cervix, not the uterus. Honestly though I am more concerned about the delayed development of the baby. The language thing isn't usually a problem at all, (I've been here nearly 10 years now) but it gets tricky when it comes to medical terminology.

Your fears are reminding me of my own after the births of my children.
Making me smile.

I remember them poking at babies stomach a little, testing her reflexes by jabbing her foot with a pen, weighing her and then sending us on our way home.

Then me on my bed looking at this little thing and think 'wtf? Why didn't they do more tests? How could they trust ME to have grown everything right?! I'm an idiot who cant even boil a bloody egg, and they just send me away with this baby who's insides they didn't even LOOK at?

With each of my 3 I went through that same self doubt.
Waiting for her to stop breathing, because there was just no way I could have created a baby perfectly.

Ahaha. Welcome to Motherhood Casey.
It only gets more worrisome from here ;)

I went off topic. Sorry, just trying to cheer you up and let you know your fears are normal, but unwarranted like us all x

Wow. I just called the prenatal doctor and very straightforwardly told her I had been diagnosed with three separate things today. I asked her why she didn't diagnose these issues earlier, or even mention them to me. She just got really bitter sounding and mean and told me the problem is with me and that everything will be fine with delivery. She literally would not respond to any specific new diagnosis I brought up; it was like she was pretending not to hear me. She just talked over me, completely, and kept repeating "Everything is normal. You will deliver soon." What.the.hell.

@mary1979 I have been freaking out so much I missed your post above about your own panicking and self-doubt -- oddly that did make me feel better. It's good to know I haven't gone completely insane. I know that new mothers panic like this and get emotional, but any time I get this way with the doctors they look at me like I'm crazy and overreacting. Anyway, the baby is an estimated 2.7 kg at 37 weeks, which is apparently small but okay. So hopefully this new doctor is just trying to be on the safe side by warning of developmental problems.

There's nothing you can do now but wait.

Lie on your back and relax, poke around at your tummy, usually this will evoke a response.
Let your babies strong healthy kicks reassure you.

If there is any risk, your doctor will ensure that delivery is bought forward to minimise any chance of things going wrong.
They can have you prepped and ready to remove baby in under 20 minutes.

Interestingly, I work with people with Multiple sclerosis.
One of our clients told me just the other day that she had stem cell treatment in Russia for it a few years ago and was amazed at how far advanced their medical knowledge was, when here in the west its rumored to be archaic.
She said its actually ours thats archaic.
So while the country you in may not be up to scratch, your doctor is likely amongst some of the best trained in the world.
Trust him x

When I was Pregnant with my first child my husband bought me one of those scopes the doctor has to hear your heartbeat. We would find the baby's heartbeat and listen to it . Sometimes wouldn't hear the heartbeat because the baby would keep moving. But it was something that I enjoy doing

any time I get this way with the doctors they look at me like I'm crazy and overreacting.

They're Ukrainian doctors, Casey.
That itself speaks volumes.
Their education is lacking, their clientelle is lacking, they're used to treating people that way, they likely have been treating people that way all their professional lives and consider it a right thing.

You are not crazy.
It's the location, not you.
