Today my husband's therapist recommended that he get residential treatment to help his PTSD symptoms. He is in the process of a civil lawsuit to press charges against his abusers (his grandparents) and the stress of this has made his PTSD symptoms much worse.

He is willing to get help but so scared that it won't make things better. Has anyone else had their SO get extended treatment? I am scared and want to know that it can help.

My vet went to treatment center and he says it was the most help he's ever received. He thinks about going back at times.

I have done 4 months residential myself. Had a therapist who has PTSD herself...best thing I ever did. I would not be alive if not for that. Hope you and he can find the help and support you need.

I spent one week at a Collin Ross treatment center (Del Amo). It was impressive. I think the one in Texas (?) - whichever one is physically close to Dr. Ross - is the best facility.

Of course, this was years ago. I can't speak to their current effectiveness.
