Ok, I just checked it, and that is correct- it goes directly to the Uni Crisis line.
I know right now as I type, with the anxiety I have in me right now, I really need to talk to someone bad. Not lonely, but I found out I'm in trouble at school again. 47 and still getting in trouble in school.

Gotcha - so, that's the number that is routed based on your area. If I were to call on my phone from your location, I'd still get another crisis center, just because my phone is 'tied' to a different area.

Regardless: it sucks that they suck.

But it's a listing of various online alternatives - mostly chat/IM, some crisis chat rooms. Not the same as a voice, but at least, different from who you've been talking with. I'm so sorry your area has no options.

I had a crisis line woman that sounded totally intoxicated and fell asleep on me. Another disconnect. A couple times, some good results, but mostly not wanting to be bothered. It sucks bad. They do not have the qualifications clearly. Not sure what their abilities are.

I have pointed out one already that I'm reaching out for help. And if I die, they will find a paper trail. They will ask "why didn't he reach out and ask for help?", and when they check my cell phone call log (all cell phones have those) they'll find out I had reached out. And if I die by my own hand, there will be a note....and they don't get that.

@cactus_jack @joeylittle and anyone else who might be interested. HUGE Update: They are no longer allowed to refer to themselves as a crisis line. I called tonight, mostly to prove a point to my husband. Anyways, the guy answered "Uni help and referral line." Confused, I asked if this was the crisis line and he said they are no longer allowed to answer the phone using the word crisis, however they can recommend their new phone App. :rolleyes: Because people in crisis are just anxious to hear about a new phone App. Seriously, felt like I was talking to my internet provider.

I dont think this woman knows what a crisis is. And to think that so many ptsd sufferers have attempted or committed suicide, that they would know what the hell to say to someone having a meltdown. Cheese and f*ckin rice this is why I've never called these numbers. Even all alone and lost in a dark place in my mind.

I am so proud of myself, I gave the director a piece of my mind today during a chance encounter. Let him know that I was aware of 2 suicides that can be directly attributed to the crisis line not (which is connected with an inpatient hospital) for telling them to sleep it off. I personally one young transgendered person who attempted via hanging as a direct result of them giving the person the idea of how to make the attempt, and countless others who have had horror stories to tell.
