I wouldn't be alive today without my dogs. I love horses too, but my dogs make me reach out and be affectionate with something, when I don't know how to do that with people. My dogs love me when I can't love myself, and even though there are whole weeks I can't leave to house to walk them, they still get me to play, and tend, and feed, and cuddle with them; and they'll sleep on my feet as much as I'll let them. Yeah, my dogs are my lifeline...

We have been together ten years, without her I never would have been able to go to the remote nature sites, just me and her and be free. She goes under antsesia tomorrow 8:00 am please say prayers, wave incense, chant, whatever u do for thea, she gives me freedom. Love this thread.

Oh, I love talking about my dog! :D

She has helped me gain awareness of my energy and nonverbal communication. She has helped me learn more compassion, trust in myself and others, learn unconditional love, and she has provided me comfort when I did not know I needed it. My dog gets me out, keeps me grounded, keeps me calm; I do not know what I will do without her.

Friends say her death will be the cause of my first tears shed since I was a child. We shall see. :cautious::cry:

You know something I realized? When I found a kitten dying in my shed ( I thought it was a rat, I almost sicked my dogs on it but they wouldn't even go in) that kitten has changed my life too. He was almost dead and now he's fat. FAT. I wanted to keep him to catch rats in the coop but he's too dainty for that lol

He's terrible at pictures. He won't sit still.his name is henry

Thank you very much!

She is an absolutely gorgeous dog. I have a leonberger, and a lab/rottie cross. Besides making me feel much more secure when they are around me (they are both massive dogs and very protective when they need to be), I love getting compliments on them. If someone (especially a man) complimented me out of the blue I'd be suspicious, but I love it when someone tells me my dogs are beautiful.

I have three cats, too. One of them was literally pulled out of a snowbank on a January night. She was hypothermic, starved, and almost unconscious. I took care of her, and lo and behold, my little beautiful rescue cat was also PREGNANT. Getting her through having five kittens at only 7 months old herself, and bottle-feeding the runt was a labor of love, but I was so proud of them all.

I kept the little runt, how could I not? The others all went to great homes, thankfully.

My animals keep me together, I do not know what I would be without them.

I've had my cat through the worst years of my abuse, and she stuck with me through thick and thin. It's tough to explain to other people how or why I bonded with her because they don't really understand, but my cat always seemed to and always gave me the support when I needed her to. Pets are great :)
