Healing stones and crystals

I've used healing stones over the years....found no healing powers, though admiration in their natural beauty.

I've already found some calmness from some of them that I had with me for a few days. So I feel that there is something to them, though it is gentle. It is not life shattering or anything like that, but then I do not know a lot about how to use them, so that is maybe why they are not powerful healing tools for me yet. I want to buy a book on them or something. Does anyone have any book suggestions on them?

@SheilaKathy There's one called The Crystal Bible. I haven't read or used it (do most of my research online) but see it in crystal shops often.

I have the crystal bible 12&3. I have most of the stones in the books. Do stones work? maybe maybe not, but I do like having them and using them. I think there is a legitimate reason for certain stones having different properties, when you look at the concept of energy. Not spiritual energy but the scientific definition of energy. Do people get carried away, absolutely, but there is some merit too them as well. Hope that makes sense and doesn't sound like I ma contradicting myself.

There is a belief that you have to unlock and program the stone before it works.

Stones are observers and sensitive. I have a quartz under my pillow and it turned from clear to pink maroonish color with shards of black inside.

I think stones help absorb what we cannot process. It takes our shit energy so we live another day.

Thank you for the link. The more I read about peridot the more I think I need to bathe in it!

I have always felt very drawn to it but never felt I found the right piece. The pendant I bought is a small round cut stone but it feels very comfortable in my hand. I wear it alongside I pendant I had engraved when I started therapy and wear them both on a long chain ready to hold and feel when I need grounding.

I also saw on the link you gave that peridot is only the stone of the goddess Pax (Peace) who is one of my resource figures installed during EMDR. This definitely feels like my crystal.

I will try to "listen" to some of mine, I never thought to do that before, but you have a point, they are ancient! I have gone more for feelings that I get from them.
