My cell phone got it, but it was very chill about it. I had forgotten about it, and it wasn't bad. I saw that there wasn't an emergency immediately. I think I might have actually been more stressed out if I hadn't got one because then I'd be worried about what would happen if there actually was an emergency.

Well, the command would be to tune in to local TV and radio to listen to the President. I guess they’d give advice and you’d be like “a’ight” and no idea what else! Hahahaha

Oh... we’ve had some version of this since the 1960s. They change its name every time new media is added. First radio only, next TV & Radio, now Mobile, Tv, & Radio.

They test it a few times a year.

The stated purpose of it is to allow the president the widest and most immediate access to the nation as possible in the event of war or grave national crisis, or locally for natural disasters like tornados & flash floods.

It’s never been used in the event of national crisis, that I know of, but it has been used over 20,000 times -regionally- for severe weather.

My personal favorite oopsies? (There’s been a few accidents over the years, including one time when someone included a line from doctor Seuss’s Green Eggs & Ham on the public broadcast, when it was meant for the private operators test! :hilarious: Hilarious, but not my fav) >>>
