Service dog funding

I was approved for a service dog program. Is anyone aware of grants for PTSD dogs for non-military people with PTSD in the US?

No, but if you hear of one, I'd like to know. I trained my own and she lived a long life for her breed so I bought another and she is not a service dog in the making. She is a great companion, but she wants to think about what I want her to do before she does it. Good luck with your search!

I don't think they offer financial assistance, and from what I understand, medical insurance doesn't cover service animals. The program I was approved for does, however, offer a discount for mental health providers. I'm a therapist, so that will be helpful.

Just an update. I adopted a yellow lab puppy that will begin service dog training in January. I also found out that since PTSD is covered under the ADA, all expenses for the pup are tax deductible, including purchase price, vet visits, training, etc, so that is very helpful! And he's pretty stinking cute
