When Decisions Are Difficult… How do you manage?

Or weighted heaviest? Even if the list is 1 heavy item and 5,000 whispers?
Values matter.

If you have a pros/cons list that one-sided, but you’re still struggling? Then either you just don’t want to make the decision, or there’s a bigger, more significant issue going on that means, despite all the cons, you may need to go with the pro anyway (moral conundrums are often thus).

If it’s the former? Consider maybe not making the decision. What happens if I allow myself to be dysfunctional in this area today? What happens if I sleep on it? What happens if I ask someone else? Why do I care so much about this decision?

It’s very often okay to not make decisions, or to go with “meh, whatever, the closest, cheapest option will do today”.

And (you may not like this - bear with me!) it’s also often an exceptional idea to…ask for help!

Sometimes, there is a bigger issue at play (moral issues, personal value issues). It can help to step back and check in with the value/moral that’s making this decision hard - is it actually important? If it is, then maybe it’s okay to go with the thing that apparently makes no sense. Because for some reason it’s important to you - and that’s okay. That may be worth 5000 reasons not to.
