Well, since [DLMURL="https://www.ptsdforum.org/c/threads/future-plans-for-ptsdforum-org.11495/"]my future post 12 months ago[/DLMURL], we (I say we, as many made things happen, including members) have progressed quite a long way and managed to get all aspects integrated into the network, and even more, with the developments due to vBulletin getting worse and Xenforo software being released as a far superior commercial grade option.
Running any website of significance and use takes more forethought than just making sudden changes. Most things I actually do have prepared for change long in advance, but may not necessarily reveal them until closer to launch.
With previous mention to the future [DLMURL="https://www.ptsdforum.org/c/threads/myptsd-looking-towards-the-future-in-free-online-ptsd-treatment.15967/"]MyPTSD resource announcement[/DLMURL], I have since improved upon initial discussion concepts with a more robust overall solution to the network of sites. The largest inherit issue with PTSD Forum, from a future growth viewpoint, is that when I started it ptsdforum.com was already owned, so I went with the .org option, as at that time, the site was just a forum, nothing else, and I really had no idea whether the site would grow or not. Well, it has, and the site has established itself as an authoritative resource on PTSD as well as support community.
We got SSA and Combat areas established, breaking out those two topics for two independent, yet good reasons, which are their own niche. Sexual abuse, as you don't have to have PTSD to be sexually abused, and combat ptsd forum as vets don't play nice as a majority with empathetic views, it really is a culture of its own, which requires a different approach to be supported than what this site offers. We have the media section, wiki is slowly building, live chat facility, etc... all going forward well.
So... something that I normally wouldn't do, being to release such details yet, I am doing so to obtain feedback upon, which may change my plans slightly over the next two years.
Points of interest and there respective reasoning/s:
Overall, approximately 2013 should be a solidified solution for the future of these sites going forward, where we have already taken control of the appropriate key names now for later use, removing any future issues with branding or even Trademarking, if things get to that level.
Feel free to have your say, positive or negative.

PTSD Forum, the brand, will be shifted and be no more in 2013. Instead, PTSD Forum will become part of MyPTSD brand.(Will remain PTSD Forum) A complete, all-in-one resource, support, walk through self-help to healing, live chat group discussions, and more.SSA will become MySexAbuse, of which domains are already owned.Combat PTSD will become MyCombatPTSD, of which domains are already owned.- Introduction of a new forum, MyDomesticViolence, which is also a very prominent subject that requires more support online.
All websites will be networked under one design, with subtle differences in colours and logo. All websites will more than likely become a single login procedure. This will minimise issues across multiple site registration for those applicable, yet also allow expansion to the chat system where public rooms are established for each topic, and with single signin, this will allow the one chat system, which is expensive to purchase and run, to be used collectively on the one website, yet linked easily from all sites, and branded to include all sites.- The entire network will be HTTPS authenticated and verified.
- Flashcoms Sitemail implemented, providing a fully functional internal Audio / Video email system.
- Two years is allocated because it will take that long for Xenforo software to mature and provide the resources we need, as well as my own qualifications, then building site information, etc... getting it all coming together, will take atleast two years.
