As I had mentioned in my other post about that one physician calling me a liar.
My old physician in my opinion should have retired before he did. He overdosed my calcium medication for my hypocalcemia which perm damaged my kidneys. No I did not sue, due to no money.
I had gone into menopause at an early age, age 42. Probably to do with my thyroid disease, which does control the hormones. Anyhow, I wanted to increase the meds for the menopause. The new physician said go ask the endocrinologist since you have the thyroid disease. Which I was all for that. It was that physician that found the damaged kidneys when he ran the labwork. Then he re-adjusted my calcium medication to the level they should have been at. The kidneys did improve some, but they will never be 100% again. So when I went to tell the new physician about what the endocrinologist found. He said to me how do I know you aren't lying to me when I haven't seen the paperwork yet. As I had mentioned in the other post what I said to him. Which also comes to another issue. Why on earth would I lie about something like that....shaking my head.

Maybe it's time we vented about some physicians.

I got sexually assaulted by one as a teen, and dated one 'psycho'.
Long history of family diagnoses missed or ignored- even when pointed out, and huge family history of it, so often think what's the point to go.
Also some really ~lousy experiences/ treatment of family members (though not always).
And (personally) have no Dr (hard to get here), and no advocate.

Plus Hospitals are triggers, so- ugh.
But some are great, a few really lousy, lots mediocre, like any profession, I think.

So true Junebug. And sorry to hear about your experience....hugs

The old endocrinologist retired which I liked a lot, and the new one that took over wasn't that great. I stopped going to him cause of his attitude. And he wasn't doing anything different then what my own physician can't do.

I hear you Junebug. I was only in my mid 20s when I had to have a thyroidectomy which is hereditary. I am generation 3 for it. It's pretty said when I can say I haven't felt good since before that operation. And with the thyroid disease that can cause depression which it has with me.

Interesting fact about the thyroid. Thyroid medication is the most used drug of any drug in the world.

Wow.
And everyone keeps telling me to get mine checked because I weigh too little compared to what I eat.:rolleyes:

-Bless you-

I have the opposite problem. But with my thyroid being hypo I can gain weight like crazy. Which also causes my depression since now I am morbidly obese.

It doesn't help to have medical care which is lacking, -yikes.
((((Hugs))), Sandra, I hope it will be ok for you.

Ya, -was thinking- had one Dr call relative a hypochondriac- she died of Hodgkins in her early 30's, another relative was told they had a 'body of a 24 year old', and died 6 weeks later (36 hours after diagnosis) with advanced metastastic cancer, another the Dr lied about the test results- it had spread- surgery would have killed her, another sister of mine in her 30's had a breast lump for 2 years- they wouldn't look at it- turned out to be ('terminal') breast cancer- but she's still here, and another sis in her 20's got diagnosed with cancer- she refused most of their recommendations for treatments and she's still here, though, 18 years later.

Yikes, no wonder we don't want to go, lol. :p Ugh Enough of my venting

I was told I had depression and Anxiety for 20 years until I a Clinical Psychologist agreed to see me for free and gave me a diagnosis of CPTSD.

I was told I had Depression and ME as I was constantly tired and achy, especially after a virus. My new doctor gave me a blood test which showed I had hypocalcemia (know what that is like Sandra). I was put on Adcal D£, the horrid chewy ones and had monthly blood tests. I was sent for a 'Dexa' scan which showed I have Osteopenia - which is thinning bones, a kind of per-osteoporosis. That was when I was 40. My doc told me to put of the menopause until I'm 50 and I laughed and told him I'd tell my body that. I then got kidney pain and stones and had another blood test, my calcium was adjusted and I keep an eye on the symptoms and have regular blood tests.

A few years ago I started to get tired again and again I was told it was ME (CFS). My mouth and tongue swelled up and I had too much saliva, so much that it was making me sick. The doctor took a look and said there was nothing wrong and to use a Chlorhexidine mouthwash. He didn't warn me about the horrible side effects, it was my sister who told me and I stopped using it as it made me worse. This year I went to my new doctor with the same mouth symptoms and he told me straight away that it was a vitamin deficiency. He did more blood tests and found i was badly anemic (iron deficiency). After further tests it was discovered that my body does not absorb certain minerals and vitamins which leaves me quite poorley. I was tested for wheat and dairy allergies which were negative but I am slightly intolerant with dairy as too much makes me feel sick. I'm now on iron tablets but my doctor has left.

I went to see the new doctor about getting help with the PTSD and it was this doctor who demanded I tell him how I got the PTSD and asked me 'what makes you think you have PTSD?' It was all written on his computer screen and I felt emotionally raped.

Now I have to go back for more blood tests and more new doctors and I WILL stand my ground with them.

My Mum went to her doctor with a lump in her groin. They sent her for an ultrasound with 'querie cancer' written on the form. The scan showed nothing but they didn't follow it up with an MI. She started to get so much pain and her doctor fobbed her off telling her it was just osteoporosis. I went with her to the docs and he actually shouted at her and reduced her to tears. We both demanded that she she a specialist privately. The private guy had her admitted to hospital and they diagnosed her with a spinal chord compression; an untreatable malignant cancer that is always a secondary from somewhere else. They found the other tumour in her groin - she died in terrible pain 3 months later as the cancer spread all over into her bones.

I was physically abused by a dentist and dental nurse as a small child - I'm terrified of going to the dentist.

I know this is a lot but I could write even more. I'm sick of being screwed by the medical profession! I'm an X Nurse and would never treat someone this way.

I got my hypocalcemia from when I had my thyroidectomy when they had to remove 2 of the parathyroids. Which controls the calcium in the blood. So far I've never had any kidney stones thank goodness.

And yes I can relate to the nasty dentists. The one I went to when I was young shouldn't have worked on children. My sister and I were so terrified of him my mother would give us phenobarbitol before going.

I haven't been to a dentist in many many years since I had to have all my teeth removed when I was only 22. I had a disease that wore the enamal off of the teeth. My mother had the same thing and she had hers out when she was only 25. Believe me I sure don't miss the dentist.
