And a few others that just strike cords with me when I'm in a dark place sometimes. *Beware*, they may be strong listening.
- P.O.D. - Youth of a Nation
Yeah that's one of my sad songs. I think it would make anyone feel sad to listen to, it has simple but powerful lyrics. I remember hearing that for the first time and being moved, I suppose that's the only way I can describe it. I think music is a great healer, it's just knowing when to listen and when it will actually just make things worse. I love that song so about to buffer it now.
I'm on a little pop medley currently, so I've spliced some lyrics as if I wrote them ;). Old songs coming back to me. Girls Aloud "Call the shots", Nelly Futado (can't spell that) "Say it right", Kelly Clarkson "My dark side":
Just 'cause you're raising the bet and call the shots now on me -
It really doesn't phase me how you spend your time.
You either stand or you fall.
When your will is broken,
When it's slipped from your hands,
When there's no time for joking,
There's a hole in the plan...
No, you don't mean nothing at all to me.
Like a diamond from black dust
it's hard to know what can become if you give up,
So don't give up on me.
Please remind me who I really am.
(I like doing this; helps me put the feelings of the last couple of days in perspective.)
