Our Pets

I have a Blue Point Siamese male. Its like living with a four year old, he has a schedule that I have to follow. Late afternoon play time, followed by watching TV in the evening and snuggles. In the morning he kicks me out of the chair at my desk because it gets direct sun light and he needs to sleep. With the warm weather a window must be open so he can sit in it and survey his kingdom. When I go to bed he climbs in and massages my neck.

And I love every minute of it.

April is so fun to have around, though she does drive me a bit batty at times trying to figure out what she is complaining about. I will let her in (for the tenth time that hour) and she will have plenty of kibbles, plenty of fresh water, toys to play with and yet she will be crying to me like she is starving??? I think she complains about having nothing to complain about. :D

She's so fun though, especially when she will be normal cat one minute, and the next it's as though she has eaten a proton pill and is super sonic...she just runs at full speed from one end of the bungalow to the other and back...for no particular reason. Just 'cos.:D She's crazy in the best way possible. Keeps me very entertained, and she is also very affectionate, loves to snuggle and have me pat her back and nudge her nose and cheeks and head...then run off in a flash when she's had enough.

My cat likes to sleep with me. He pats me or the covers in order to get under. Everyday is the same thing, nap time or night time. I lift up the covers and he takes his sweet time deciding whether he should enter or not. Once he does, he tries to get comfortable. He has to hold my hand or at least have one paw on my arm. It is sometimes annoying to wait for him to do his little ritual, but, once he does, it is very cozy and I can finally sleep.
Mine has started doing this, though she doesn't pat me, she just does her little trill meow thing and leers over me while I am sleeping until I wake up and open the covers up so she can crawl into the make shift cave and snuggle up with me. I love it when she does, but she can be a real pain in the morning...always wanting lots of pats when I just want to sleep, then when she's done with pats she wants to go out...or just stand at the door deciding whether she will go out, while I stand there in my underwear half asleep wanting to jump back in bed. I swear she does it just to get me out of bed. Then, of course, once she does go out she waits five minutes until I am nice and cozy again and cries to be let back in again...and the cycle continues. This is an every day ritual for her. It's beyond a joke now.

You know you are wrapped around their paws when you don't get up because you don't want to disturb their napping. Both my dog and my son's cat laid down by me for a nap just when I was going to go take a shower. Now my son just went to shower and I'm stuck(self inflicted mind you) on the couch while they nap.:laugh:

She loves her cat pole...:)
