Caffeine?

So I've figured that caffeine makes me a LOT more clear and focused, and am wondering where to get it.

I absolutely hate coffee, I cannot stand the taste of it. Even the smell alone makes me sick, to the point where I am wondering if coffee actually is a trigger.
Energy drinks are both expensive and extremely unhealthy, and tea doesn't have much caffeine.

I just learned that caffeine comes as pills, but from what I've read till now (not much) really frequent use of these could be a great risk and a no-no. Maybe I'm wrong. Could caffeine pills be an option, or should I keep on drinking enormous amounts of tea and energy drinks? I actually drink so much that I forget to eat because I drink myself full...

I myself found that a bit of caffeine wakes me up and makes me feel awake, though there is a fine line too much at once can make me jittery and cause my anxiety to be sensitive (too little, like tea, obviously does nothing). Now I make my own fancy coffee/latte drinks which is more cost efficient and I can better control how much coffee/caffeine is in it versus the other ingredients. During the summer I make a blender full of Iced Cappuccino the night before and drink it all though the next day.

But I just don't get jittery and sensitive, I get more focused on what is ACTUALLY going on instead of everything else around me as well as less sensitive.

Are there any healthy alternatives to coffee, energy drinks and tea?

I was trying to say if you need caffeine but can't stand coffee, try adding black coffee to a blender and then adding milk and even chocolate to cover up the taste of the coffee. That way you get the caffeine and a serving or three of milk, also chocolate has a bit of caffeine

Can I ask how you know caffeine helps if you don't like coffee and haven't tried other sources? Are you basing this on your tea consumption? If so how do you know that a higher or more concentrated dose of caffeine doesn't/wont make you jittery?

You have to drink a lot of tea to get the same kind of caffeine hit as coffee. I can't remember without looking it up but it's something like twenty times as much I think. Ounce for ounce, tea actually contains more caffeine but the way it releases it means it is more dilute - like you can get many more cups of tea containing caffeine out of an ounce of tea than you can out of an ounce of coffee.

Dark chocolate will give you a bit of a caffeine hit.

@Antidote Oh, sorry, my bad. Yeah, I could try that, but I don't really like milk either and again that'd be an expensive option, I'd guess. Plus we don't have a blender, our home is like that of a student who just left home.

@digger Energy drinks. Loads of them. And I have had coffee (covered my nose and just had all of it at once).

Yeah that's why tea isn't an option. I'll just stick with energy drink if there's nothing else, but they're not exactly healthy.

Dark chocolate is too... chocolatey. I don't know. I can eat maybe one row of it, then my tongue won't take more.

I just realised that I'm a little picky. Never thought of it before.

In the UK you can buy something called ProPlus, which is caffeine pills, but if you're thinking of taking it more than occasionally, I think it would be best to speak with a doctor first? I'm not sure from your post how you use it or want to.

Have you looked at other ways to help your concentration? I know you have extra issues to contend with than most teens, but a lot of teenagers are affected by memory and concentration problems. Things like exercise, diet, boosting your vitamin intake, omega 3, improving sleep routine etc can all help.

Are you SURE it's the caffeine? Energy drinks are packed with b vitamins (ie 10,000x RDA) . Maybe it's the b vitamins and not the caffeine.
