I have no icons on my desktop. So it is veryyyyyyyyyy clean. :D Just only wallpaper, I change it time to time.

i cannot stand icons or folders on my desktop. when i'm in the zone i could care less about what applications are open, but even at work i keep all my shit on the server or in my email.

Mine's a mess. I've got a mac, but because I'm doing a course where I correspond with a whole lot of people with microsoft computers, I've had to install all the microsoft software alongside the mac stuff because none of them could open anything I sent them. Mostly I keep my computer for official stuff now and do all the recreational stuff on my i-pad. I'm not a huge fan of apps either.

I am neat and tidy. Tidy computers and tidy desk space. Everything has a space and everything is in its own space.

I just bought a new computer so it's pretty clean and so far only has Windows 8.1 on it, but when I change the OS to a Linux distro and get all my files into a clean partition (or, really, just add it, I'm going for dualboot Windows and Linux) the chaos will rise again.

I can't stand a cluttered desktop, I minimize everything. When I want to open something, if I have to click more than 2 X's or _'s I get seriously angry.

My work pc, sadly is used by quite a few other people as it's geographically convenient for them. I am forever closing a thousand windows left open. Seriously pissed off just thinking about it now. Lol.

Oh, and if I wasn't such a nice guy, the few people who like leaving their email open with the confidential stuff out there for all to see. I have been seriously tempted to print out some of the juicy stuff,and leave it laying around the staffroom. But, I am just too nice.

As for my actual desktop? Umm when I can see it again, from all the crap piled on it, I will tell you what colour it's supposed to be. Ha.

I just read through all your posts and have no idea what your all talking about. I have an I pad and turn it on and do this site and a couple of others, e mails, photos, videos of my grandson and that's it.
I was the same when I read the post, I thought you were talking about my desk top, Shows I don't know much :D

Disasterous, receipts and bills and paperwork piled up and not put away. I've given up using it. Now my bed is becoming my new desk.

I've got several windows open on my browser for work so I won't forget them. Otherwise it's pretty clean. My real world desktop, however, is a mess. I've still got tons of paint bottles on it, even though I haven't painted for about two years, plus tons of post-it notes with various info. I just don't want to put the paint bottles away.

@desiderata310 -- does your workplace have computer support people? Ask them to set you up an automatic backup system with a separate drive, or else to the Cloud. Automatic is good!
