How Chaotic Is Your Desktop?

Just wait for some years, this two OSes will become new norm. :D
I hope Linux will pass Windows. Steam's getting more and more games for Linux as well and a couple times I've heard of games being released on Linux before they came for Windows. Also, Unix is just so much more stable... It's really only the deal Microsoft got with IBM that's made them so big, isn't it?

And grr the most annoying thing with Windows is how hard it is to customize (in Win8 you get a long way by right-clicking the home button, but not anywhere near as far as you can get in Linux) and how hard it has to make dualbooting. I'll put the Linux software on a separate and hidden partition, leave Windows on its own partition and files on one. I tried to keep both Windows and Linux Mint on my previous PC without separating and hiding stuff form each other... the entire thing crashed, lol. Neither of them like other OS's.

I hope Linux will pass Windows.
Technically, it has. Linux is the largest OS in the world, just not at the users desktop... but literally runs the Internet. If it wasn't free, it would be on near every computer. Mac being Unix, many don't understand they're cousins... and Mac OS now also free by Apple, people still fight all these nasty Windows issues, when they could use Mac or Linux, you just have to adjust slightly to different things, but most near all major software is available for Mac / Linux, maybe different names, but same outcome.

I will never go back to Windows. I hate it... I run it purely in a partition via Parallels for a handful of programs that I need which aren't available via other OS's, purely because they're small niche software, not mainstream stuff.

@anthony Yeah, that's true. I wonder what the internet would be like if it was based on Microsoft's way of doing software... Unix is so stable, down to the core programming, while Windows is unstable and weak and easy fir viruses to infiltrate, isn't it a bit like that?
I've been completely without Windows for... a while. My first PC had Lubuntu and I got it at 5. I use Wine to run programmes for Windows, I just install the original software pack and run it in Wine where I add all needed drivers and fonts and other things through the settings there. That is if I don't quickly find some command lines that work. With Netflix that took 5 seconds to find online, Ableton Live I had to do myself. It's tricky but it works.

Mac has so many fun multimedia programs. I came across Ubuntu Studio which had lots of fun stuff. It's XFCE by default, so I have to do something about that to be completely satisfied with it. I usually prefer KDE.
