I Cry For My Generation More Than Anything.

What's been done to me is small compared to the mental rape of today's society. I cry for that more than anything. I recognize that my depression tends to begin and end with that.

I feel like a quick glimpse in the history books shows that humanity as a whole is continually improving. :hug: It is an upswing graph with many ups and downs, but the trend is upwards. I dont know what your generation is, but I personally dont feel particulary raped. I believe one tends to notice it. There is no other time I would rather be alive.

Absolutely! Society has come a long way in the last 50 years. Like mind gaping leaps and bounds as positive influences and societal functioning.

My misanthropic tendencies are geared more toward the dark nature of humanity, than hating every single human on earth. I am empathetic and nurturing to people that are suffering, but I have a severe dislike for abusive, selfish, and manipulative human beings. Sadly, that seems to be what the world is most full of these days.

Nah. The nice, kind people are quiet. Nice, good things and deeds are quiet. Heroism is quiet. You dont notice them. Violence is loud. One abusive asshole is louder then a thousand paragons of virtue. I love mankind. I really do. And I believe it is a personal obligation to not allow the bad stuff to overshadow the good, just because it is so much louder. Not more impactfull. Not more powerfull. Simply so much louder.

That's a great attitude, to be a pure philanthrope. But it is far too late for me. I have been witness to far too many atrocities at the hands of humanity.
