Warning - this is a woman kind of question and it is GROSS...

After Ben passed my body went into a permanent period mode. It has been 10 months. I have seen a dr. and been put on a prescription. Didn't do anything though and it can be incredibly heavy and painful (cramps) too. In November I had 4-5 weeks of no period bliss. (Funny it was one week after I met Tim, who I had a wonderful relationship with for a few months) Then it came back again and in full force. Its really horrible. I don't even get how it can happen. Dr says "just be patient". Since I cannot afford insurance, I cannot get a procedure done that he believes would help - which sucks. (Abrasion?)

Has anyone else dealt with this?

I am wondering if anyone has experienced this and if you had the procedure done. I am thinking of trying another hospital to see if they will do it and put me on a payment plan or something.

I've been having similar problems...periods 2 -3 times in one month. Cramps unbearable. They want to do an endometrial biopsy. Which is scraping out the lining. They say it hurts for about ten minutes. Soooo looking forward to this. NOT.

Then they're gonna put in IUD and in 3 -4 months should help lessen pain of cramps and make periods less frequent.

I'm afraid of the IUD - my body rejects everything and I just dont dare. I wish so bad my body & head would be normal ;)

My mother had it done, it went well and she is happy with the results. She was experiencing non-stop heavy bleeding and it may have been related to menopause (not sure), but anyway that is what her doctor went with. My mother over-shares pretty much everything with me, so I assume the heavy bleeding stopped completely since she has not complained about it since the procedure.
