“I Feel CRAZY

With CPSTD I often feel crazy. What’s underneath this? Any thoughts?

I’d love to know the answer but sadly i dont! Can absolutely understand what you mean though. I thought it was just me ....

It took me a long time to understand the phrase it’s understandable you feel that way or it makes sense given xyz took place, both phrases used by my t when I’m pretty certain I’m nuts. Now I can gently say to myself it’s understandable that your feeling this way. He also told me many times feelings such as those can be intense at times but if you start to pay attention to them you’ll notice that they fade off and go away or reduce. That helps to remember that too so that I can see it and trust it does go away.

The flashbacks and memory loss and dissociation and arguing with parts? Oh yeah that’s a whole lot of crazy I’m experiencing after years of “normal”...

Please don't see yourself as crazy, you, your mind and body are all making sense, but we are stuck in our trauma. Sorry you are feeling like this @Snowflake .

I feel CRAZY sometimes too. Not always, thankfully. I have gone through years of therapy though, and a lot of meds. Hope you feel better soon.

@Snowflake - I have CPTSD too and I often do feel like I'm crazy. I have no idea but I wanna say, you're not alone, and I also believe that neither of us is crazy :)

I am at state of complete disbelief now that I have been saying I must be crazy this happened. The beauty of waking up from dissociation!
Crazy things happened in CPTSD that are so crazy and overwhelming for a child or a baby or a young kid...so overwhelming, so murderous, so terrifying that child completely went to sleep.

Then you wake up many years in therapy and you supposed to believe what you feel and remember slightly or your body is telling you AND OF COURSE ONE GOES ABSOLUTELY CRAZY!
How could a mother do this to her own child day in and day out and be normal too?

No way!
Yeah...I know what you are saying.

But, I am also correcting the words (at least the words), crazy in compassionate way to myself becomes, unbelievable I lived through that to tell. Work in progress.

I do recall one time that one of the first times I felt this way, I went into a screaming fit! I did that as a teen in the woods, where I thought no one would hear me, but oops, someone did.
