I bet they are so sweet . For a short term fix just try to not look forward or back just think what can I do for the next 30 mins - or 10 mins or few mins just to get through - think very small picture for a small amount of time here and now - when you get to the end of that time period do it again until you settle a little - I find this really helps when I start to get overwhelmed. Right now you don't need to think about the future - keep it small and contained .

I know what you say about the friend thing, when I am feeling down and not good about myself I avoid my friends because I think I am not good enough. But I need to remember my friends like me for who I am not what I look like or whatever. Friends are here to help each other just because we are feeling sad or whatever they are not going to run away from us.
(if only I took my own advise lol)
 
Focusing myself on the needs of someone else helps me. I can't do something with them but instead for them Eg clean my kids room or bake for a friend or tame your rats :)
 
Are your thoughts obsessive or repetitive? Are you ruminating? If so, medication may help.
 
Thanks! I am already taking several medications to help with a lot of my issues!! I don't feel like the meds are helping at the moment, but I don't think the meds are going to be the answer to everything, I know that!!!
