Annoying people

This is a rant but also thought maybe someone could shine some light on something for me. Why are some people so annoying? Meaning they are loud and obnoxious. You always know when they are near because they are clearing their throat or coughing. They have to slam things around.(can’t just set it down normally). When they are near my anxiety goes high and I am jumpy. They laugh loudest, talk loudest and are just like a big neon sign saying look at me. Well we all hear and see them but what is their point? And after awhile if you have to clear your throat and cough all of the time go to the doctor.

Maybe just maybe this

and their noises just coincide. So in essence, when you notice these loud and obnoxious people MEANS you are anxious or anxiety is coming up soon. It could be an alert system for you. So rather than focusing on them, it may be time to take a step back and regroup yourself - self care.
that is a good point. I know when and who increases my anxiety maybe I can prepare ahead of time.

I am a loud talker. I did not know this until it was pointed out to me by a quiet meek person. I tried to be quiet, but found I couldn't. I cough and clear my throat because I have allergies. Sorry, that is just the way it is.

I guess there is always two sides to things. That is why I posted this and that is interesting that you say you didn't know you were loud until it was pointed out to you. I know I am quiet (not meek) and knew this before it was pointed out to me. There are many personalities. This is a poor example but I was told once to picture everyone with antennas. Everyone transmits a frequency. Some frequencies are negative some are positive. But, like the radio we all have our preferences. It is my responsibility to not tune in to the wrong station. I also find it interesting that you use the word meek along with quiet as I would use the word annoying along with loud. thank you for this perspective.

I am a bit hard of hearing, which could be why I am loud. I have had the hearing problem for as long as I can remember. It is the kind that hearing aids won't help. I think I talk loud so that whoever I am talking with might speak louder too, so I can hear better.

I’m not too bothered how people are whether quiet or loud, I think it’s their actions and their words is what’s important, And who they are, but slamming for attention has annoyed me in past, takes all sorts I suppose:)

I'm also quite a loud person without being aware of it. When I am trying to be quiet I can do that for about 5 minutes, but then I forget about it again. I wish I wasn't this way because it is annoying for me too, since I don't like to be this noticable.

I am also very clumsy, which is something I have absolutely no control over. I accidentally hurt myself, bump into things, drop stuff, walk into people, slam the door a little too loud without wanting to. My body coordination just isn't good and it gets very bad when I'm very dissociated.

Weirdly and ironically, I am also annoyed by loud sounds. I know thats not fair because I often am loud myself, but I'm just very jumpy, easily scared and hate certain sounds (btw, have you heard of misophonia?).
Because my ex was smoking regularly, he was often coughing multiple times each minute, and it drove me mad. But there was nothing I could do, I could only work on my anxiety and anger issues. I couldn't expect a person to just magically be the way I wanted them to be, I had to work on myself, you know?

Hope that you'll be able to be a bit more regulated around people that make annoying sounds❤Believe me, I understand the struggle.

I just had a thought - is it possible that you are annoyed by attention seeking people in general and not by loud sounds per se?

I'm a loud talker and I didn't know until it was pointed out to me. And I don't notice when I revert back to it. I'm not hard of hearing, but I have family members who are, so I suspect some reason there.

Why are some people so annoying? Meaning they are loud and obnoxious.
Just because I'm annoyed doesn't make them annoying.

I get more annoyed by other people's behaviors when I'm personally keyed up for one unrelated reason or another. To the point of not being able to stand it (I have co-workers who, when together, slip into an almost clichee American sitcom type of talking/behaving.... including joyous screaming and everything just being completely over the top - it's unbearable to this European)

Correlation =/= Causation.

Oh, and I slam things because I'm clumsy.

Yup! This!

I'm such a hypocrite because I'm a loud, even ebullient, person - but get super annoyed by other people being loud and ebullient. I can't stand screaming, even if cheerful.

ETA2: I recommend noise cancelling headphones.
