Anxiety Medication

I just found out my insurance will not be effective until March 1st now because I missed the midnight deadline for the February 15th effective date. Well, that's what they said. I know I submitted my form before the deadline and it could've just been that there never was a deadline and the insurance agent just wanted her commission for the month closing since it was Jan 31st.

But anyway, does anyone know if in the United States, will an Urgent Care prescribe for anxiety medication like Buspar since it is non-narcotic? I have had it before in the past for about a year. It really helped me and didn't make me loopy.

How about an anti-depressant?

I feel I need something in the meantime until I can get into CBT. The thought of waiting an entire month terrifies me.

Or maybe should I call the CBT trauma specialist and tell her what's going on and see if she can prescribe? I know she said she wanted me to give CBT at least a chance to reduce those symptoms, but I don't want to.

I would first go with your specialist and see what they would prescribe.

Do you mean an Emergency Room when you say Urgent Care?

Believe it or not, a magnesium supplement can be very relaxing and this is said by a former addict. A magnesium salt bath is good too.

In my neck of the woods, it's difficult to go in cold so to speak and ask and get those kind of meds when they don't know you. A person could potentially o.d. and they don't like taking that responsibility I don't think.

But nothing ventured, nothing gained.

No. Not an emergency room. Urgent Care is like a place you go to receive treatment when the ER isn't necessary. It costs way way way way less than the ER too.

Yah. That's why I have such a fear in asking. My ex was a seeker and so I fear people will see me the same. Stupid fear.

I'm going to try magnesium and the salt baths. Thanks so much for your suggestions. I will go get them tomorrow. I have to go see the tax guy in the morning so I will get out of the house. I have left the house once in the past week.

I really feel for you guys in the States. Someone showed on the web how much it cost for an appendix operation in America... $54000 for a week in hospital and if you don't have so called insurance... Your fooked! Thankfully, here we have medicare and for low income earners, it is an absolute blessing.

If insurance is a problem then tell your doc because they can prescribe you meds that are no longer paying off their research and therefore much cheaper. Like $4 a bottle.

Most of the basic anti-anxiety pills are generic and cheap. . .your co-pay might actually be higher than the actual cost. One great thing about using the same pharmacy is that they understand the situation you are in and are able to work the system in order to get you what you need. Most pharmicists are jsut as frustrated with the system as we are and will do whatever they can within the law to help. . .especially if they have worked with you for a while.

So, I suggest talking with your favorite pharmacist before going the Urgent Care route.

But if you are not a low income or a child or senior citizen those insurances do not apply to you.
I recently had a stent put in my heart. The bill was 65 thousand dollars...... After my insurance picked up what they paid and what the hospital wrote off (scam in the works) I had to pay 2 thousand dollars.
You have socialized medicine. They wont let that happen here because most here are afraid of it.
