Hello I am new here. I was wondering if there are any gulf war 1vets here. All wars have different circumstances. I was just looking for others with similar experiences and stresses.

How about an intro to yourself S-D

you will find a few Gulf 1 vets here, myself included. But you will not get to much in the way of a warm welcome if you don`t introduce yourself.

Nothing specific, just US or Brit or any other nationality, Army, Airforce? maybe a time line.

Just currious if others have the same stressors and symtoms as myself. Also most of my PTSD symptoms did not appear until last year. Some I had immediately when I returned state side after the war. I do not have a computer so all my typing is by phone. That's one reason my posts a short and direct.

Hey Dave

Welcome to the forums. Quite a few vets from your era. Glad you made it back and found us. Lots of good people and info.

I was in Gulf 1, but was in the navy, on a carrier, tail end of the war. Battle group did "clean up" and "fought the peace" (war was over but hostilities were a common thing). So, probably not the same stressors, sorry.

Welcome to the family S-D.

As a Brit I have Tours of NI and Bos as well as the Gulf in 91. Stressors maybe the same, symptoms are most definatly going to be very close.

Left in 95, and wasn`t diagnosed until about 3 years ago. Guess you can imagine the carnage the tornado that swept through left after destroying everything.

Welcome Super Dave! I'm recently retired career military, US. Pulled hot missions in the Cold War & cold missions in a hot one. The delayed onset you've experienced is very common. I had some obvious immediate symptoms at first also with most becomming clear years later after learning about PTSD. Lack of education was a big issue for me and many. Spread the word and help others.
