The old shoutbox chat from this site has now been removed, as the network uses SSO ( Link Removed ).

If you aren't logged into the chat automatically, it will present you a login screen. Your login is the same as here, as 99% of accounts here have already been synced with PTSD forum, thus whether you know it or not, you exist there... hence how you use the chat.

On the chat homepage there is a specific chatroom "My Combat PTSD - Lounge" which is specifically for veterans with PTSD only.

The chat system is self moderated, thus if you get dickheads who are not veterans with PTSD in that room you can actually ban them yourself from the room for one hour.

I am not going to teach anyone how to use the chatroom, as there are instructions located at Link Removed already, with four sub-topics to the right side navigation and video instructions on those pages relevant.

This allows combat vets to use the live chat video / audio system in their own chatroom, which you have all the power to self moderate immediate dickheads from yourself.

You cannot moderate PTSD Forum staff.

If this turns to shit, with other people with PTSD entering the room who are not veterans, then the room will be password locked and that password disseminated here for members to pass it along via PC's to one another for access, knowing the person you pass it to actually is a vet with PTSD... thus, issue fixed on who enters the room because only someone here could have screwed it up.

The usernames from here which will not be able to login on that site due to account conflicts are:

'Zatt',' dave',' mando',' phil',' BILLYD',' Nathan',' John',' Nate', 'pete',' Sarah',' Chrissy',' Fargo',' njray',' harmony of love',' blake',' Jane',' Kay', 'Joe',' Kevin',' Chris',' Jim',' Andrew',' JarHed',' Clayton',' FUBAR',' George',' Ernie',' daniel', 'fallenangel',' Jerry',' Alexander',' marc',' Animal',' star',' Freya',' Mountaineer',' TinMan',' gypsy',' alice','Tim &Bailey',' ?jen?'

If your username is above, then we need to make changes to it if you want to use the live chatroom as a veteran, as there is a conflict on PTSD Forum with the above usernames from here.

Respond here if you are on it, and I will explore what the problem is and what changes are needed for you to use the system uniquely. If not on the above list, then you should be able to use it without issue with your current site login details.

For those with a different username on PTSD Forum, but your email address is the same, you will need your PTSD Forum username to access the chat...

Something with the sound on the chat room Anthony? My speakers were on when I logged in, and it just screeched at me permanently real wierd.

Does it also run your Camera automaticaly when you log in. Can`t say I like that. and not being a PC wiz, I have no idea if or how to turn mine of. Laptop and all its inbuilt

This is why I provided the initial link to the chat help pages, which has a sub-navigation page explaining the audio video: Link Removed

The chat system has help pages which explains these points, you just need to read them.

Video audio does not just enable itself when entering the chatroom, you must physically enable or reject it on entry.

The chatroom does not control your sound either... ie. your speakers screeching at you.

Hey Anthony

I didn't see this thread before trying to logon to the chat room. I did get to reset my password which I thought would help but it didn't. Just a heads up on the problem. Let me know what I need to do.

Jar, my login for the Combat forum is Jimmy, I had to use my login details for the PTSD forum to enter Chat.

Hey Jimmy

I tried that, using my combat forum logon and it didn't work. I'm sure I'll get the details of what I need to do and it will all get worked out. I'm patient about these things. There are always issues when something new gets rolled out. So no problemo.

There is a username called JarHed already on PTSD Forum. Do you own that registration on that site, as it has a different email to the one you have here?

If you do, all you have to do is change the email address on one site so they're both the same, obviously it must be a real and confirmed email address, as you will require to confirm it to make the change.

If that is not your account, then we need to add a letter or number to your username here, which will be unique to PTSD Forum and allow you to login there.

As the information posts about this state already, this only affects a limited number of users, and you are listed above in the first post as a conflicting account.

Jimmy, your two accounts used the same email address, so it would automatically recognise you regardless which username you used on PTSD Forum.

To keep you aligned, I have changed your PTSD Forum username to be the same as here, as you don't use that site often, so you can keep the login name as your username Jimmy was still available on the main site.

No more Jimmy66, just Jimmy now.
